The challenge

Yee Lee Group was turning 50, and the anniversary celebration needed two films. One had to thank the people who built the company. The other had to tell the group’s story to guests on the night, and keep telling it at corporate events and in marketing long after the party was over.

Anniversary films often turn into a list of dates and old photos. Staff sit through them politely, and guests forget them before dessert.

Fifty years is a long time. The films had to make people feel it.

The strategy

Two films, two jobs

We split the brief in two.

The appreciation film was made for the people inside the company. It was a thank you to every member of staff whose work carried Yee Lee through fifty years, made to be shown to them at the celebration.

The brand film looked outward. It told the group’s story to the guests on the night, and was built to keep working afterwards, at corporate events and in Yee Lee’s marketing.

Creo handled both films from A to Z: the idea, the script, the shoot and the edit.

How we made it

  • Concept and scriptTwo stories from one brief: a thank you for the staff, and the group’s story for guests and the market
  • ProductionFilmed by Creo, from wide landscapes to the factory floor
  • Post-productionEdit and finishing, ready for the anniversary night
  • Built to lastThe brand film was made to keep working after the celebration, at corporate events and in marketing

The outcome

A room full of proud people

At the anniversary celebration, the films moved the room. Staff were touched and proud of the company they had built together, and the invited guests felt it too.

After the celebration, the brand film carried on working for Yee Lee at corporate events and in its marketing.
