The challenge
Sabah Tea Resort sits in the highlands of Sabah, among tea fields and mountain views. It needed a film to draw local and foreign tourists, for its own channels and social media.
Travel films often go loud: fast cuts, big music and lots of action. That suits a theme park. A tea resort in the mountains offers something else.
The strategy
We followed a group of friends on their stay, and let the place set the pace. Instead of a fun, hyped-up edit, the film moves slowly, with long shots, soft light and room to breathe.
The calm of the resort and the size of the landscape around it do the selling. Viewers get a feel for what it is like to be there, and why they would want to go.
Creo made the film from A to Z: idea, script, shoot and edit.
In motion
The outcome
Sabah Tea Resort got a film it could share with local and foreign tourists on social media and its own channels, one that shows what makes the place special: calm, quiet and surrounded by nature.
